Benefit Concert and Letter of Support

At the benefit concert for the skatepark held at The Cave at Carleton College on November 8, the Skateboard Coalition brought in $400, which was matched by a generous donor, bringing the proceeds from the night up to $800.

Today, the Northfield News ran this guest column by Jane McWilliams, who has been a valuable adult advisor to the Coalition since early last year. Jane says:
There are 100 skate parks in Minnesota, from Baudette to Albert Lea. We often hear local citizens say it is high time Northfield had a skate park. If we all contribute to this drive, next summer, in addition to swimmers at Old Memorial Field, there will be skateboarders of all ages, practicing and performing on a state of the art facility.
To join the effort, you can give online here, or send a check made out to "Northfield HCI" (with "skatepark" in the memo line) to: Northfield HCI, 1651 Jefferson Parkway, Suite HS 128, Northfield, MN 55057.
